I think a big part of investing comes with experience. Some People just need to go through bad experiences to learn their lessons. Thanks for the video!

But Sven, in this world of instant gratification, getting wealthy slowly is soo old school! lol

Hit the nail on the head. They wanted to listen to the “professionals” that suited them rather than the professionals that were telling them the truth..

Great video Sven!!! Another Charlie Munger quote that may help people βinvert, always invertβ. Listen to what is explained and then flip it on its head and see which is more likely. Also risk vs reward you always talk about and it sticks in my head when analyzing businesses. Thanks again!

Very important video about choices and responsibility, Sven. We have all gotten greedy and – even if occasionally – slaughtered like pigs. Greed is okay within the context of understanding a proper allocation for ourselves, and knowing that we can also lose. The FTX hucksters were pretty easily identifiable for the shallow sales-guy pitches..

Surely one of your best video. It was a very good dose of real talk. Those that get involved in risky speculation with lack of fundamentals are surely likely to lose and lose big.
The value investing icons do not lose big and do not wipe out.
Your video, if watched properly, should make everyone think very well, about the best place to put their own monies.

Hi Sven, I just want to let you know, that it’s astonishing how much value you give and I’m really surprised that your subscriber count is not increasing fast.
You are the best value investor on youtube (especially for europeans) by far. Thank you very much.

You are like my uncle whose advice always felt like a slap across the face. Dry, in your face, to the point, no sugarcoating, borderline condescending. But, like his advice, these are extremely important life lessons that the wise would pay heed to as it is providing an opportunity to learn from other people’s mistakes rather than committing expensive ones of their own.
You are absolutely right, the most sincere advocate, financial or otherwise, that someone can have is themselves.
Listening to clowns on YouTube (may be not Sven, may be)is not a path to financial security.

Excellent mindset video Dr. Carlin !
Something that might* sound obvious on the surface, but rarely if ever heard that kind of talk.
Thanks for reinforcing our own responsibility for our own life !

I loved the part about “professionals have been told you a great deal” … LoL. The blame game is so easy. I’ve lost money this year but for sure I’m responsible. Yes my main strategy is to listen to youtubers but hey I know I remain responsible for my investment decisions. Ya is pathetic how many people fall back on blaming others asap things go wrong.

Great video. you’ve remind me of what someone once saidβ€ Making money is an Action, keeping money is behavior, Growing money is Knowledge. I once attended seminar and ever since then i been waxing strong financially, and i most tell you the truth.

Access to a good information is what the investors needs to progress financially and in life. Here is a good one and I’m grateful Mrs Carmen Alise
Thanks for bringing the truth that we need to hear.
All over social media I’ve been saying for a year that I’m sticking with Buffet and Munger as far as Crypto is concerned.
Let’s just stick with the real billionaires
Thanks for that mature adult like remark! Always good catching up with you, Leave me a msg I’ve got a something essential to share
Sven another great video. Honesty and responsibility make a man. We have enough to worry about in our own lives. Everyone today is obsessed with telling other people how they should live.ππ½ππ½

You are absolutely correct, these youtubers and wallstreet are giving the people what they want: chasing stocks and the next shiny thing. Try to start a conversation about the actual business of a company (what is BASF actually producing, where are they producing, what are their plans for the next 12 months, etc.) and you get zero reaction. People (that includes most of the more professional) are not interested in actual content/ reality, they don’t want to have this kind of conversation. To understand the business of company and follow it requires constant work, and so people prefer to trade stocks.

Thank you Sven saying it how it is 100% agree with you. So many want to listen to what they want to hear and play the blame game when it doesn’t work out like a child calling for mummy when something doesn’t go there way
Love the videos to give me ideas and info im interested in then research myself and make my own decision on if to invest or not.
Keep up the great work Sven ππ»

Sven, you are correct. I believe true investing involves working hard to save money to buy businesses that pay dividend income. If someone reaches a point in life when they can no longer work, they will need the income, capital gains require eating seed corn to survive. Unfortunately the Fed all but eliminated a portfolio that pays a real dividend. The Fed made everyone a speculator, the Fed gave people no choice but to gamble and of course snake oil salesmen come out of the woodwork to take advantage of all the new gamblers. Thank-you for providing quality content.

A downside of going over the top on ‘accountability ‘ is a bunch of badly thought out regulation that penalises investors who put in the minimal effort required to avoid the scams. Sorry to people who lost money but this should be a painful lesson to DO THE RESEARCH.
Totally agree with you! It’s hard to stay sober when everyone goes crazy around, but then morning comes and of course….the barmen is one to blame!
Hi Sven — I both agree and disagree with you. I agree with the comments you shared too. Every party involved has responsibility, is to blame, and should be held accountable. Yes, it is the individual investor’s fault too, and you’re right that we can’t expect others to look out for our best interests. But we also shouldn’t only blame the victim and let the scammers off the hook. It’s not okay to blame only the victim. The scammers should be held accountable for their part, just as individual investors should accept responsibility for bad decisions. Otherwise, the scammers will keep scamming people. Interesting video! Thank you for the food for thought!
