Maybe I’m foolish but one day the government will have the right ethical people in place. Maybe the SEC should be for profit of the employees, meaning if an employee finds a scam/breaking of law they get a financial reward rather than being on salary. But the market is supposed to do this work for you (in some situations). What we really need is for personality tests to be more broadly used. People who suffer from NPD ( narcissistic personality disorder) are competing as sociopaths against people who care for others. If we could identify the personalities that are culturally/socially destructive, we could prevent them from taking positions of power in public/political positions.

The biggest scam is the 2&20 fund management fee structure. The fund manager has no risk and always gets their 2% up front and 20% of any profit if any. But if the fund looses, all that loss is passed to the investor. So all fund managers need to do to get rich is attract enough investment capital.
