  1. Interesting video!
I rarely watch some of those channels, but most of them fall into two categories:
    a) Their business are news: so they need to have people watching them. Noise is good for them.
    b) Their business is to sell you something: so they will use any news (trend) to scaffold their sales pitch.
So, why I watch them even rarely? Because I want to know what are they seeding to the population, so I know their selling points, and what they want from the mass.
But at the end, like with food, junk news will only waste your precious time, make your mind fat, and at the end you slowly and die earlier and badly.
Better a healthy information diet, long term value compound knowledge, and enjoy life.
Ah, training your self the best you can for your trade, whatever it is.
Thanks for the video and keep going!

    1. @Chris I won’t mention anyone in particular, because I think it’s not necessary for the point I’m trying to get across 😉
However, besides what people sell or not, you can always find some value, either in what they comment, or by what they omit.
My only point is: being well-informed from different sources, and practising the critical thinking can help in the long run.
Following one point of view entrenched, probably not. Just because it’s very difficult to see the whole complex reality from one point of view.
      Thanks for commenting 🙂

    2. @Francisco Domínguez That’s the way I try to formulate, a mixture from multiple sources and doing my own research with a little optimism of what the future might realistically become.

  2. That’s the result of our hyper connected society: a tsunami of low quality informations every time there is a small change

  3. Sven love your Videos, next to Investors Podcast and Pabrai Lectures etc one of my favorite Channels!! Keep it up. Greetings from Germany

  4. Thank you. I hope you never stop making videos on yt and never stop running research platforms because I learn from you a lot.

  5. Sven, thanks for yet another solid content video.

Please advise where can one get the key ratios you used to present from Morningstar now they don’t have them online anymore.
    Thanks again.

    1. @Value Investing with Sven Carlin, Ph.D. It would be greatly appreciated if You or anyone could suggest other source for such data necessary for valuations. Thanks in advance.

  6. Well, both want to attract an audience, but its almost like they have to make headlines out of anything because that’s all they know but Sven can talk about real investing because he actually knows it.

  7. EM Everything Money is also Value investing. I didn’t watch this particular video but normally they war warning people to get sucked into news instead of valuing enterprises. To be anti EM you need to be anti Sven. To be honest I don’t watch any other of the listed channels.

    1. EM tends to be more exaggerated than Sven even if they talk about the same thing. For example EM talking about CPI and telling people the bubble will burst and stock crash more and therefore only buy when everyone in the news has no hope left. That is just timing the market mentality. as Sven said nobody can know what happens in the future, when a company meets your criteria for value investing, don’t need to wait for a bottom because it may or may not come.

    2. Everything Money keeps saying that we should expect 8-10% when investing in ETFs. As Sven has explained, that is not necessarily true. Past performance should not be used as a predictor of future outcome. Sven has called out on the trap of assuming ETFs will deliver “amazing” results forever.

    3. @C Rohmer I agree, they are like CNBC Jim Cramer style and it’s too much noise and exaggeration

  8. WARNING: As the channel grows (thank you all for that), there are more and more scammers impersonating me. The only thing I am selling is my Research Platform and Book https://sven-carlin-research-platform.teachable.com/p/stock-market-research-platform
All that I do, the real links to my content are in the description of the video, I don’t give out my Whatsapp number and I don’t sell any Cryptocurrency related things! BE CAREFUL OUT THERE!

  9. I guess everyone is long term investor until it all goes to sh!t, thank you Sven much needed video.

  10. Good one Sven, yes so easy to get caught up in the headlines, “this time next year you will have a whole new set of problems” my mother used to say to me

  11. I watch New money occasionally, plain bagel always and some of yours, Sven. There are some other channels… no CNBC and bloomberg though. The point is that I watch them because I want to know what happens in the short term. Between now and 12 months.

Because I have my own plan for the long term and mid term. So its really the pieces for the short term that still need to be filled it.

I dont let any of this information determine what I buy or even when I buy.

  12. Here’s a suggestion for a future segment since you’re on fire lately (´▽`) !

Maybe discuss the emerging markets situation. Alternatives to moving away from China maybe? Africa has a very young working population.

Could India become the new global manufacturer down the road to? Would it help fight inflation? I’d be curious to hear your thoughts on that since it’s obviously not that easy.

  13. I have a question I wish to ask. I am not from the US and currently the USD is very strong compared to my native currency. I am sure this is happening to many other native currencies also. Question is should I continue to invest in the US market when the USD is so strong compared to my native currency? My logic says to stop investing in the US and wait for the dollar to come down first, but then again I have no idea how long this trend will continue.

  14. Hi Sven, unfortunately you share only one video per day so I guess we all have another source or two…. The more videos you post the less time we will spend elsewhere! Thanks for the great work and love the new pace of at least one video per day!

  15. Recently I had to unsubscribe from all Youtube channels related with the stock market, due to the spamming videos about INFLATION, to focus just in 1 or 2 sources of information. It was one of my best choices.

Thanks for the daily videos Sven, I’m looking forward to start reading your book when it arrives 🙂

  16. This is exactly the video we all needed. Thanks, Sven!

My favorite is when the market changes mid-day and then the headlines change from, “Stocks plummet upon news of x” to “Stocks soar as investors digest news of x.” It’s like, “thanks guys.”

  17. When i started my investing journey, i would oftentimes follow the market news because i felt like one has to in order to stay “informed”
When i stopped doing that, i felt very relieved & it didn’t impact my process in any way but helped me focus more on the businesses themselves
If i know whether inflation is high or low & whether interest rates are rising or staying flat – and how both could affect the businesses I’m interested in – that’s enough for me i think

  18. Good video Sven. I agree with your opinion. I’ve seen some of the video of these youtubers. The most important thing in my opinion is always analysing the situation and always have confidence in our minds.
