The video on Brookfield had two parts, the benefit side and the danger side. Now, it is impossible to know which one will emerge and both are possible.

Sven, what about Mark Carney, Howard Mark and Bruce Flatt ? Do you really think they don’t know the risk ? All senior management of Brookfield and probably the best investors in the world
I dont think we as retail investors know their strategy!
2:11 This sounds like some logical analysis for Bitcoin. It would be 500K, half of the actual price or will be 0.
Irrelevant ๐
6:11 Usually we don’t the flip side of the bet coin. We tent to think “how much money I can make on this?. Double. Ok.” But, if we think…how much money I am willing to loss in here? IF I don’t loss this money, I can get the double. But, the starting point of the analysis is the loss not the upside.
๐
Only history is known.
Sure
And that can also be debated!
Hi Sven, we need brookfield in your diagram. Thanks
too risky to put into the quadrant ๐
The Odd Couple reboot idea: Sven and Cathy Wood get an apartment in New York together, talk stocks and watch the sparks fly ๐
hahahaaha
It’s not possible for them to have no equity in 2027 Sven, sma,e on you. They have non-recourse debt mostly. Their 4 public subsidiaries are not going to go bankrupt. They have real estate with 4 to 7+ year leases with investment grade clients. They have long dates liabilities that are based on actuarial tables so very little risk on that end as well. I won’t even start with Howard Marks and his track record. Also they earned carried interest (I will ignore target carry for the moment). You have such little understanding of Brookfield is is sad.
Thanks for commenting, good points! The thing is I understand enough of what I need to understand, enough to assess the risk and reward – I am not saying it is going bust, I am just saying that if valuations change, the whole game changes for Brookfield too! And, we have seen valuations change – that is it!
It is nice to read an informed comment, thank you scottiebumich.
Hey Sven, sorry to get a bit off topic, and this is controversial but I think you should cover weapons manufacturers, especially European ones. Everyone here must be aware of the news….not being really new as the war has probably dragged for more than a year and it’s looking worse.
not a specialist on weapons ๐
Mr Pronk we are waiting…
๐
Mr Pronk … the guy that wrote a book on fundamentals of investing after few years of investing in the greatest bull market ever ๐
Sven, Once again I appreciate your efforts. I loved your last video. I am a holder of BN and BAM and appreciate your review of BN. Keep up the good work!
Glad it was helpful!
Again, I honestly dont think he knows much about the company or how its structured. To be fair its corporate structure might be one of of the most confusing in all of canada
Thanks for sharing! I know what i need to know ๐
What about BAM the asset management spinoff they have now? Do the risks apply there also?
Good question.
You are so right, Sven. Thanks!
My pleasure!
all right, the same argument applies to all private equity see apollo and blackstone or kkr
It is always about how it fits you ๐
Maybe Ackman have position with put option for protection. And covered call for lowering price of protection.
Sven.. you are one of a kind in the youtube space, one of a kind!!
You’re perspective and perception of investing is wonderful
Sorry this video is all over the place. Seems to be talking about risk management which is actually portfolio management but he is getting confused with value investing. Quality of these videos seem to be getting worse.
Maybe Baba has less risk? What company is not exposed to geopolitical, regulatory, competitive, etc. risks?
best educational channel ever,
sven, any thoughts on stoneco
tomorrow!
I think the track record of Bruce Flatt and his team speaks for itself
thanks for sharing!
