    1. ZEQT is just the fund which happens to be from one of our partners BMO, we also work with Harvest, Hamilton, Global X and many others!!

  1. Why not go with a S&P 500 with a high monthly dividend like USCL or HYLD you get growth along with dividends ?

    1. In my opinion, these funds are targeting towards investors prioritizing high monthly income! Not a goal on mine currently!

  2. Hi Brandon, have you considered VUG or SPMO etfs. It seems like they beats the sp500 etf index by a bit

  3. I started my investing journey watching your videos and followed closely along since the start of the pandemic. i sold off majority of my individual holdings early this year and switched to XEQT. The main driving factor was simplicity and automation stemming from my growing family. That was more valuable to me. Definitely feels great to know you have done the same for similar reasons. All the best!

  4. The dividend on voo is like 1.2%. Therefore the 15% is like 0.2% per year. If you need to convert the money to Canadian Wealthsimple is going to charge you like 2.5% it made more sense to convert to Canadian using Norbert’s gambit while it was with TD

  5. Here is why index investing makes sense in my opinion. Brandon even said his days were researching stocks. If you look at his picks many have been losers lately. The market has a huge emotional component and research captures only logic. The emotional component is getting larger with time. You can’t predict when the emotion shifts for no reason on an individual stock very well because it can be as simple as the wording of something in a press conference. Generally money doesn’t flow out of the market. When one stock gets sold for no real reason other than emotion the money flows into something else that is likely also in the index. So the index isn’t affected nearly as much by emotion and therefore you are less susceptible to illogical shifts in sentiment which are unpredictable but still capture most of the upside because when the a big stock goes up often a rising tide lifts all ships

  6. Curious why did you switch to Wealthsimple from Questrade. Buying ETF is free plus norbert’s gambit on QT🤔

    1. No ECN fees, dividend reinvestment and fractional shares are nice on WS that QS just doesn’t have. IMO Wealthsimple for Canadian domiciled ETFs and QS for single stocks/US stocks

  7. I divested all my individual stocks over a year ago now. I got tired of balancing my portfolio while watching my separate workplace account in funds outperform overall. My RRSP holds ITA (+25%) VDY (+10%) VFV (+32%) VGRO (+16%) and my Wealthsimple managed ETF TFSA is up +35%. Freed up time, and the rewards have been great, so probably the smartest decision I’ve made.

  8. Woohoo! I’ve been waiting for this video since I saw your portfolio update on Blossom!! 😄 You are glowing, it truly reflects how happy you are with this decision so I am very happy for ya! 💯 Sometimes, simplicity is the best policy.

  9. I’ve got a hunch you’ll add more to your portfolio. I started with VOO as well but then started to add ETFs that serve different purposes – VCN, VXUS, SCHD, VUG. I’m just willing to guess you’ll find fun doing the same eventually 😉

  10. The overlap was the first thing I noticed, but you’re right about it actually being an “ok” thing – seeing as that’s where most of the action is anyway. Thanks for sharing!

  11. LOVE the new portfolio! So clean and elegant! 🙌Thanks brother for sharing and documenting your investment journey over all these years. It’s been a privilege to follow along 😊
