It absolutely boggles my mind that we try so hard to get people to spend, when we have such a massive debt problem. STOP spending people! There are worse things than the economy not growing.
Tell thr federal liberals to stop spending 51 billion in interest payments no principal bring paid
Socialism without long term plan (like real socialism housing plan work such as in Singapore). In the end, the scheme will fail and they will blame it on socialism.
As someone in the trades we can’t build faster be it resources or physical trades ppl you can’t just make these things out of thin air and the politicians pushing these things know nothing of the industry. I’m not saying don’t push infrastructure but we are always going to be playing catch up because I reasonable timelines and surplus demand. Just my opinion.
We need to grow our population at a slower rate. Too many immigrants too quickly.
Not to mention that all these foreign workers they bring in to build houses don’t actually know the trade standards in a first world country.
@@yeoldeaesthetic3780 that would collapse the CPP… if you don’t want a pension, just tell us
How does taxing me more to subsidize someone else help me buy a house?
Why not start a fund to build single room housing for our Homeless population with a drug system decriminalization and a job retraining plan?🤔🇺🇦🙏
because.. if you’d ever tried to work with the homeless you’d know they resist every attempt.. They see government as their enemy and act accordingly… they are their own problem and helping them too much just makes them weaker
Hey, is that a bear back there?
What does 6 billion do if the country is growing at 1 million per a year?
You need to build wayyy more housing… almost into a boom. What happens with booms? The price of materials go up. The price of labour goes up…
Which mean the houses become more expensive.
We really are in a pickle. Im an electrician and I’d love my industry wage to go up but it seems like it will also make housing more expensive. Im cynical and I think the goverments solution will to bring in more immigrants who specialize in construction to keep wages low. 👎👎
Thankfully “I got mine” but I really worry what my kids will be able to afford, and I don’t care what prime minister is elected. They all suck. Nothing will change.
The Canadian government can always jack up development fees to $1MM on each property. In that case, we need 6 trillion dollars or more.
I remember when the Federal govt got out of housing. One of my first political opinions was formed at the time…
Is this now a news channel?
It’s the wrong way. It’s the way we got here.
Could you explain how the raise in carbon tax will affect the future of the Canadian economy. Rise of fuel cost, rise of delivery of goods, rise in inflation
Housing is provincial jurisdiction
