    “Somewhere probably between a penny, and fifteen bucks.” I know you’re talking about the gift cards, but that sounds like Dollarama’s pricing for just about everything. Bird seed went from $1.25 to $4 in a single year. I don’t think they even put price tags on the shelves now, probably because they’d have to change them again the next time everything goes up.

    As for the grocery industry, I’m still very angry at them. I don’t want collaborative efforts, I want punishment. There used to be a sort of understanding that we’d let the oligopolies cheat us in some economic sectors, and in return we’d be allowed to get by when it comes to the price of essentials. But now the very small number of companies that run the food industry have decided loaves of bread should have the same profit margin as cell phone data plans, and we’re all in trouble. A code of conduct is the smallest, tiniest iota of what the government should be doing there.
