  1. I’ll keep my TSLA stock until I see more Hummer EV’s than Teslas in the Costco parking lot.😉 I don’t expect much from Q2, and I’m OK with that.

  2. Dave, I finally got my Tesla Model 3 Standard with FSD. I received my car on 7-17-22 this Sunday. The interior is black and white interior cost $1,000.00 extra with 19” sports wheel that cost $1,500.00 —> total cost $52,798.07 including tax . The FSD cost me 13,142.00. that included the tax. So my final total for both was $60,940.00. So happy to become a Tesla owner. Now I can be a beta tester so we can improve the FSD.

I also installed solar panels on my house and I let my Neighbor charge her Tesla for free. Solar Panels make more power than I use so my Energy company owes me money. Nice to have a zero electric bill. I will be getting a 25% tax write off and preserve my Tier 2 status. So when we go into Tier 3, I will be locked in to the old standards Tier 2. That can save me $70.00 extra / month—> Life is good

I hope everyone can have what I have. I sold lots of my 401K to make it happen.

    1. If I had to choose, I would get a long range model with just autopilot instead rather than a standard with fsd.

  3. You aren’t tested until a company you own and believe in is down 30-40-50% from its highs. You will question your conviction, your strategy, your process. The market has a way of finding your breaking point. Nothing tests your conviction like falling stock prices. Tesla dip getting on my nerves though 😑

    1. @Plants Tho Get out from behind the computer and go take a walk in the woods. When I’m walking in the woods with one of my dogs and see the morning sun breaking through the trees, hear the wind blowing the tree leaves and maybe see a deer and her baby running along our pathway I have to believe in God. Only God could have made something so beautiful.

    2. @Dawn Coen Like Peter Lynch said, “.. investing is not about brains, it’s about stomach.”

  4. Be sure to report any “Unwanted commercial content or spam” in the comments. I’m sure it bothers Dave to see it. It certainly bothers me.

    1. Yes, what’s with that dr antonio john? Name sounds fake as heck. Worse than the worst kinds of car salesman.

  5. Hey Dave. Love your interviews! Would be amazing to see you interview Karpathy, especially in the presence of James Douma. Curious how he answers the question “are you planning to reduce your investments into TSLA in the next 12 months?”

    1. Depending on how well he manages his own financial affairs that might not be indicative. He might need to sell a little for personal cash flow reasons where it would be a better investment to keep the shares.

    2. @audience2 yeah but, is he selling them because he’s not happy where full self driving is going? That’s what’s he’s really asking

  6. Thanks Dave, very interesting. I except high volatility after earnings call. Q2 is funny, even the bulls have very different numbers for gaap profit.
This will remain a roller coaster at least until Q3 earnings.

  7. I think you are being optimistic for Q3, I guess around 325k due to china rework and shutdown issues also Berlin rework. But Q4 may be 500K, if the CCP finally open up and 4680 scaling rework?

  8. Great that you share your estimates and your thoughts. It is really useful to learn how to analyse and follow a company closely. Best investing channel on YT!

  9. What about Tesla declaring 50% completion on FSD and then offering that half of FSD said to be completed for $6,000? Did that not happen? I though I remember seeing it a fews weeks ago. Can’t Tesla do that and dip into the FSD deferred revenue account to pull additional income into Q2?
Was Tesla not already at about 25% FSD FC prior to Q2 22? Could that not fill in the gap of income from the missing Shanghai Production and then some with High margin software revenue?

  10. Dave, What is the impact on Op Mgn of Tx&Brln ramping faster/slower? The ‘Mix by factory’ in ’23&’24 is the focus…Great channel DL!

  11. I can tell you that for Q2, they were delivering almost exclusively model Y LR with FSD added and performance models.

  12. Hi Dave, why didn’t you mention the revenue from the energy business and comparison to earlier quarters and years? thanks
