  1. I’m going to start accumulating stable liquid cash/assets for when/if a recession starts. I think Tesla stock price will go down quite a lot in that scenario so it’ll be time to load up.

  2. Dave, thanks for all your input, it helped me a lot, I remember the first time seeing a video of yours, the first time when I stop and took a pause, could breathe again, and just think deeper about TSLA swings. Now they feel so normal! Much love to you and the community

  3. If a bunch of big hedge funds are shorting Tesla as a Bill Gates follow, would that cause a price drop?

    1. @SolidSnake what’s the logic behind this? hope to understand better the mechanism behind shorting and affecting the sp

    2. @Robin Tan Do you not know how shorting works? Shorting puts downwards pressure on a stock. The more sellers than buyers than the more it goes down.

    3. @Bruno Heggli I was attempting to figure out why the stock price was dropping so much. Found out last night it was because Elon was selling a small fraction of his shares to purchase Twitter.

  4. The question I always wanted to ask Elon is “Is there a point where lobbying would be necessary to further Tesla’s mission statement?”
I’m hoping in the long, long term that Twitter being an objective platform for freedom of speech will negate the need for lobbying.
Remember, Elon was a consultant for “Thank You for Smoking” hahaha

    1. The nefarious thing about lobbying isn’t that it allows you access to the public official… it’s that you have to PAY FOR ACCESS and with that comes PROMISES that have to be delivered based on how much you FUNDED THEIR CAMPAIGN. If it were just that politician cared about the loudest voice in the room.. we would already have major changes (like term limits etc.) It’s a MONEY GAME and that’s why the big money whispers and writes a big cheque.

    2. @D R-K i wish you people would stop bellowing about time limits. What happens when you find a great leader?
Oops times up! GTFO and thanks for the fish and chips. Next !!!

    3. @Len Gould yeah i agree with that. but sometimes its not about funding campaigns and hoping for reward if they are elected. Some lobbying blatantly buys/changes policy mid season. Illegal in every other country. Inside trading also a huge problem.

  5. short term, the macros will hurt the stock, but the strategy is right and they have the lead. with the price of oil going up and staying up, people will move to ev. the recession will hurt legacy and help Tesla. stock price may be down for the next 2 years while the macros get worked out, but Tesla will be much bigger and stronger on the other side (2-3 years). hang in there!

    1. @Obnoxia Aeristokles the „A“ stands for Average. Because you buy regularly, no matter the macro environment.

    2. @T Low No, you average over short term stochastic noise. You always must take into account macro, because macro is very easy to understand and exploit. You should never buy during a time when you think a recession is likely. You wait it out until the likelihood of a recession drops below your pain threshold. Don’t be a victim of FOMO.

  6. Great video, there are always risk but I can’t find a closer stock to a sure thing then Tesla.

  7. say hi to chicken for me if you hear from him. I miss him.
thank you for your analysis and work done on this. I am a holder at $925. I don’t mind the lower prices. Lets me DCA in and get this down

  8. I’ve bought 10 shares at 836 and at 900. All of these recent concerns relate to macro issues. Tesla is set up to excel over the next few years with Giga Texas and Berlin. If Twitter deal goes through Elon will bring in a qualified CEO to run things. If stock gets sold to finance the deal, I will buy more stock in Tesla. Elon has a solid executive team who will continue to move the company forward. The agile system makes Tesla a great investment long term which does not show up in the financials.

    1. @A R we all have daily loses no matter what if you are holding long term. Dave’s daily swings are probably crazy af to handle by most of us

  9. These are the times to buy. Most likely we will see a big drop once Q2 ER comes out, but between now and then, these prices are great buys… If you’re long on TSLA 😀

    1. Exactly. I keep buying more every time it drops while making money in the short term with puts. So in the last week, my portfolio is up 300% on puts and I’ve doubled my shares for the long term. The fundamentals haven’t changed, but might as well profit off of short term macro conditions. Peace.

  10. Thanks Dave, for your timely refreshing reminder what investing is all about , with its ups and downs sudden jerks, sometime predictable , others out of the blue. But its is evident that Tesla is one of Wall str. brightest stars, and whichever way we look at, it has to be condemned to succeed well beyond and above most expectations. Surely Elon could have helped avoid the latest rout by devoting 100% of his time to Tesla. But that is a typical Elon behavior, it isn’t the first time not surely the last. But the character is so huge , so efficient, and so uniquely great that the most foolish thing an investor can do is sell out of Tesla, hoping to invest his money in a far better growth stock which i have a problem identifying. Patience is the virtue of the strong, and i will be patient, practically without worries because Elon has a very dirty habit of delivering and stupefying people, even the greatest. At the end of it all, probably Tweeter will somehow benefit Tesla too, but we need to wait for Elon to tell us.

  11. Dave is doing his level best to calm investors, while Elon is doing his level best to drive everyone, including himself, crazy.

    1. Relax, be patient, give it 5 to 10 years. If you’re in a hurry, then you’re speculating not investing. Nothing is going to speed the stock appreciation up, except executing a successful plan. With today’s high inflation the Future Value of the share price must be discounted at a higher rate, reducing/slowing stock appreciation.

I’m adding a little bit with every significant dip. As we had this week. Stay steady, don’t buy so many shares at one time that it panicks you into selling. Try to keep dollar cost averaging into Tesla based upon your risk tolerance.

    2. Long term we’re okay but, Dave is an “influencer”; hate to say… like he did with Lemonade… sigh 😔

    3. @J Schlock He saw potential in lemonade and it’s still there. If you look at his portfolio, lemonade was a very, very small position.

  12. every dip I manage to hold my Tesla stock, makes my conviction stronger and stronger. I’m feelin increasingly harder to even touch my shares. When you zoom out the stock graph from this crazy volatility and look at the shape of the line at 5 years scale, these movements look pretty negligible. So please, all those Tesla investors, just stick to your conviction (based on facts and research) in Tesla, and forget about this macro-environment noise.

  13. Elon is just being Elon. His big brain is no longer required on the factory floors as the production puzzle is mostly solved. He does need to replicate factories, half dozen should do for now, shouldn’t be much of a problem. The cars are scientific works of art and as such lend themselves readily to new models. I don’t think he sees Tesla as a technical challenge anymore. And I seriously doubt he and his highly competent team will find twtr as a technical challenge; just jack it up and sling a new software undercarriage. His challenge, as we have already seen, will be a huge psycho-social outburst of emotions, both rational and irrational. Elon and much of his team are somewhere out on the autism spectrum and won’t suffer either emotion or irrationality well. Sadly politics are saturated with both. Will be fascinating to see how he works that problem.

  14. Thanks Dave,

You always give a great, clear explanation of Tesla’s financials.

    Much appreciated.

  15. Thanks for this video. An ex-colleague convinced me into stock trading and investment as a means of making more income maybe because of the few commissions she earns bringing people. Sad i fell, My portfolio have been down ever since. Next time, i will first spend my money on myself before investing.

    1. Why pick random stocks if you are actually not willing to research them.Again avoid chasing big returns by investing in the latest hot picks, by some guys here who aren’t professionals you’re likely to overpay. Some them are sponsored.

    2. If you must chase the hot picks perhaps for
the larger profits then go through a Pro
because being very much more profitable it is riskier too. Don’t come here blaming anyone.

    3. lam in a similar fix too. Hopeful the market revives soon. Pls where can i check ROIC, Market Caps, comprehensive flows e.t.c. And again can you say a Pro to hire or work with?

    4. @Abelardocaroca Personally i prefer to work with “Erin Mary Worden ” She’s quite popular and a director with NTS. You can look her up online. in all honesty, she is an Angel.

    5. She’s really Vast i must say. I listened to her podcast on Nft bubble she is a Great speaker, full of humor and rhetorics. I so much loved her presentation.

  16. Tesla stock is volatile and has suffered several corrections along the way to its current high valuation. And if the stock reacts as it did during the 2020 stock split, waiting may not be the best decision for investors..What’s the best strategy to make gains in this present market condition?

    1. Investing in Tesla stocks is not like putting your money in a savings account that pays 10% annualy. Returns will fluctuate from year to year, some times dramatically. The 10% return is only an average of some bang up years and some gut wrenching years.

    2. @Anthonio Rodriguezmy advice to investors is to keep your guard up for economic risks. However, smart planning, time management and seeking advice from a financial adviser can help keep investors and there money safe.

    3. @Smart UtherI agree with you. I ventured into stock with less than $100,000, and now I’m about 17,000 short of half a million dollars. Credits to Stephanie Priscilla Bonillo. She’s verifiable.

    4. @Ella Robertverifiable where please, will want to reach her because my TD portfolio needs urgent attention
