  1. LET’S GO DAVE. #MÉXICO BC LABOR COST. Also Latin countries need teslas. Clean mobility for All.

  2. Yesterday TSLA announced 8 more factories needed to achieve 20M vehicles/yr. Current 4 factories seem to be ~1M vehicles each so new factories likely will produce ~2M each. Makes sense given gen3 platform intended to take 50% less space and capex to produce. 🤔

    1. Berlin and Austin are capable of way more than 1M each. However, Austin will focus on Y and cyber truck, because that’s what sells in the U.S. I predict that the model 2 will not be made or sold here. It will be for South America, Europe, and Asia.

  3. Dave – thanks for sharing what the Tesla executive said. I saw others on Twitter, last night, speculating something similar, but hearing this from a Tesla exec make it more like to be true – that the timeline for next-gen 1/2 price car is about 18 months and coinciding with the finishing of Giga Mexico. Next gen robo could be a van for hauling people instead of the 1/2 price car.
$TSLA volatility will still continue as always, especially if there’s even a slight perceived drop in demand for 2023 or if Tesla has to cut prices further to sell all 2M they will make in 2023.
It really is a question of investing only what your situation allows and holding for long term and not worrying about short term volatility.

  4. Tesla can have fully loaded trucks going in both directions. More SuperChargers will be needed. Sounds like they look at the finished plan and then design the building. Their Giga Factory man from China will be a big asset. I am really impressed with the Tesla Team.

  5. I suppose they will play it save, little experimentation where the outcome is unpredictable. Gigacasting is established, subcomponents are far developed, so mainly improve the way it is assenmbled to save cost, thus a faster ramp is possible compared to Cybertruck. Thanks Dave.

  6. The Tesla Investor Day was a WOW! moment. The vision and planning is out of this world. The competition is being left far behind and Tesla’s lead is just increasing every day. The low price model
“P” will be announced when the Mexico factory starts production. Initially it will only be supplied to
customers in Mexico and deliveries to USA will probably be delayed.

  7. @Dave you are bang 100% spot on for Tesla positioning of the Giga factory in Mexico 👍. After hours and today the markets misread this critical info and TSLA stock dropped almost 7%. This one of the game changers the markets misunderstood lol 🤣😂. More opportunities for me to buy the dips and accumulate more units 🙌😎👍👋👋👋

  8. One of the Tesla guys on the stage (I think for Operations/ Production) during the QA, he let slip that Mexico was for next Gen. I do not think he was supposed to say that, Elon avoided saying too much about Mexico. It was an optimus bot moment, with the guy next to him was giving him daggers. So for sure Mexico is next Gen, Tesla will need a much cheaper EV for South America. Also Mexico I think applied to be in Mercosur, so hopefully less taxes on the next Gen EVs entering markets such as Brazil which will be a big EV market.

    1. look at the thumbnail of this video. Its the official picture of giga mexico and it says next gen vehicle🤣

  9. Their next generation vehicle will probably employ the new construction techniques. Elon said that that they are reluctant to switch of model 3 and Y production for any time so chances are that Model 3 and Y will continue to be the same for as long as they can keep churning them out and for as long as they can continue selling them economically as currently produced. That leaves this new model either only available initially in Latin America, or they will be exported around the world from Mexico or current factories will be expanded to create lines for this new model.

  10. The reason why the current models are not in demand in south america is that in Brazil, for example, a model 3 base model is around $ 122k that could be represented as 492 minimum wages.

  11. Tesla just laid out their roadmap for a fully sustainable world and south America will play a big role. Wouldn’t be surprised if Canada announcement next year. Lets go!

  12. Great information, exciting times coming from Tesla and its great products. Looking forward to it!

  13. You got it!
But the production of “Model 2” in Mexico will begin, slowly, at the start of 2025. The factory might take 1.5 years to finish, and the tool chain is new. It will utilize the build process outlined in the presentation.

  14. If Tesla is addressing new markets with this factory in Mexico, expect them to announce their charging infrastructure plans as well. It will be really impressive to see them build out a network of charging stations across new countries with varying energy infrastructure. If Dave thinks Tesla can have next-gen vehicles rolling off the line by the end of 2024, the charging infrastructure project is going to move at a pace like we haven’t seen before, and that’s awesome 🙂

  15. One of the major takeaways I got from the presentation is that new Gigafactories will be unlike all those that precede it. I thought they said the new factories will be 50% smaller and thus 50% cheaper to construct and take 50% less time to build. Did anyone else hear that? As a result, if Shanghai took 9 months to build and the new factories are supposed to take 50% less time, then maybe the one in Mexico will only take 4-6 months or so? I hope they have the groundbreaking ceremony soon and the next generation vehicle rolls off the assembly line in Mexico by the end of 2023. Yes, 2023. If you take into consideration all that Tesla has learned from Shanghai, Austin and Berlin these new factories (and yes, I hope they build multiple of them in parallel this year including Canada and perhaps another to serve the next generation vehicle to China and take market share from BYD) I think this is possible. Maybe I’m delusional, but Tesla seems to keep iterating, improving, learning, and making their products better and the factories themselves are the most important product in my opinion. “The machine that builds the machine.” “Alien Dreadnaught.” Anyhow, great video as usual Dave, keep up the good work.

  16. Monterrey is Mexico’s high tech manufacturing center, it’s like a giant business park with mines, refineries, and mills, a great place to build and sell Tesla Robots.
