Wealth Builders Club Secrets Revealed – Click Here to Discover the #1 Investment Resource!
Everyone thought the 3rd gen unveil was gonna be a car, but the actual unveil was the manufacturing and factory building process. The process is the product unveiled. That’s why they said the 3g platform was not segment specific but will apply to all segments
First principals. As long as they think like engineers and not marketing influencers, then I’m a happy investor.
@J Some do not have eyes to see or ears to hear. Just sayin.❤
Hmmm. But I was expecting an affordable car or tell me when you would make a Model 3 sub 30k.
Whatever Tesla said is what everybody in the auto industry does everyday as process improvement.
Whoever said Bin the parts, I would say painted parts are not easy to bin. The hue of each batch varies and it’s still a challenge at Tesla or any paint shop.
And this manufacture process will not only be used on the next compact car/SUV, but also on Model 3 and Y so that they will be cheaper to build. And Tesla said CT is half there.
Everybody was actually expecting the new process not the car. Seems you have not followed the discussions prior to the event.
They did slip in something about [fully?] automated assembly during the presentation – when will the first fully automated non human assembled Tesla stamped with “Made on Earth by Tesla bots” roll off the line?
Can’t wait for more of these Dave!
you can wait
Glad to see you this excited Dave 🙌🏼
Man, I’ve missed Dave.
I think it’s a great idea, and anything which speeds up/lowers cost of assembly is generally a good idea. However! Often this is a trade off which makes maintenance/access alot more difficult during recalls or retrofits. If you want a circular economy. Maintenance and replacing parts are hugely important. I hope that someone is thinking about that.. IE if you can’t access a seat fixing because it was fixed before being entered into the chassis, so you have to reverse engineer to get it out, or damage the surrounding integrity. Just a thought really.
I m sure they totally forgot about that aspect. Hopefully they are looking through the comments
@Cal Morton
I’d suggested when the castings first appeared that in the event of an accident you could just unplug the loom, unbolt the complete front end and rebuild any undamaged components onto a new casting.
Then bolt the assembly back on.
(Received the expected amount of “scepticism” for that one!)
@AldouzTek
Smh
@Roger Starkey If you watch Munto Live you will see a lot of the parts are not just bolted together but for strength are spot welded and glued as well. They had to use blow torches and sawzalls to get stuff apart.
@Roger StarkeyI’ve seen videos of a mechanic welding a flange back onto a front end casting. The flange was part of the assembly holding the driver’s side front suspension, but was knocked off in an accident.
Lots of investors are looking towards next gen vehicle information which will probably take years to implement. This information on improving and transforming their manufacturing process caught my attention as well. Kudos to the Tesla team for never thinking about how to maximize the efficiency of the manufacturing process. They will set the standards of manufacturing for not only automotive but certainly other industry to think about and improve their process in manufacturing.
Really it comes down to how well can the machine build the machine for tesla and don’t worry there will be a new platform/ model soon. But right now tesla’s focus is cybertruck, Optimus and FSD.
It is incredible what Tesla is doing, they already are leading regarding manufacturing efficiency and just accelerate the pace. Even if traditional manufacturers would be able to catch up to where Tesla is today within 5 years, they ill be in no way competitive to where Tesla will be then. Achieving a cost reduction. of a few percent is a huge achievement in traditional auto I industry, halting production cost will just shock the competitors. Thanks Dave, good point with making production more suitable for Optimus.
This is great content Dave. This will be great if you can break down the whole presentation into bite sized videos. I feel some of the channels that concentrate more on speculation don’t help the cause.
It’s going to take time.
One general take away for me from the whole presentation:
In recent months, there have been criticism of Elon being distracted away from Tesla. There were about 15 presenters that demonstrated a sample of the leadership that Elon has put in place (which frees him to influence influencers, government officials and and investors.
The only segment that Elon wanted to present himself aside from the macro level was the humanoid robots.
Dave, that supports your highlighted take away from the event presented in this short and first video about the event.
Amongst the many things that impressed me, was during the SOFTWARE discussion (1hr 33min) – the ‘passive’ background testing of new algorithms (particularly safety updates), using the vast amounts of historical anonymous fleet data collected & how the systems (both hardware & software) ‘would have’ reacted in every situation in the wild, with far greater confidence (before going live).
This was mind blowing. As big as battery day, but more surprising.
I don’t think many understood what Tesla said, because the stock went down. I suppose most would have been happier to see a new car model and a presentation about how every passenger now get to have two cup holders per person.
Exactly!! I don’t think a lot of people could see the bigger picture of things. Instant gratification is a problem people have.
I really like your short concise videos keep up the good work Dave
Fantastic work Dave. So glad you were there in person. Once again you have found the nuggets and have shared the unique thinking and advancement that Tesla has once again done and will do in their factories. There are lots more “golden nuggets” of information from last night that your viewers/subscribers will be excited to hear about.
The enabler of the unboxed approach is the low power DC wiring implemented as PoE. Each unboxed section can have its own wiring to controllers, motors, lights, whatever and then when the unboxed modules are assembled to each other simply connect the Ethernet wiring by plugging in the connectors from each module. The other enabler is the use of solid state fuses, so there is no centralized fuse box where all power wires have to run.
Thanks Dave! Great insight and well taken by those of us who can see and understand. $TSLA has never faired well by disclosing more than the masses can understand. But it will play out to the shock and great disappointment of all the mockers who “knew better”!
Bingo! Many of us are wide awake and excited!
Great point Dave, that is indeed the secret sauce that propels Tesla to another level in vehicle manufacturing. It also provides a template for other to follow. No other other Corporation thinks or acts like Tesla.
Great video, Dave. Helped clarify what Elon’s been saying for a long time about the machine that builds the machine. Thank you!,
I completely agree, Dave. This was easily the best part of the presentation.
Thanks Dave. I’m always interested to get your thoughtful insight on Tesla news and these events.
