    3. @R1ck Healty profit for whole family!Potatos Broccoli! Not just getting hungry no food nothing because Teslaaaaa!

  1. This is a hellish nightmare for any other car manufacturer, EV or not. I think this price cut is a killer move for Tesla.

    1. Bro I’m missing something. This price cut. People say its a win for tesla. But these price cuts along with the less demand in China. Is only making People think that tesla isn’t doing well. Thus hurting the stock even more. On the outside that’s how it looks. On the outside it doesn’t say this is a sick move and tesla are winning to the normal investor.

    2. The stock price assumed the best case scenario. Now the scenario is not that case so the price adjusted accordingly

    3. Yes negatf profits,a dream comes true for Tesla investor!Who dosent want to go broke for Elon!Elon Eeelion why didnt you buy the dip like all your good Teslaboys? You and your brother sold Tesla stocks for a good price! You still dont know that investing is all about losing as much money as possible?Eeeeeelon you have to listen more to.Dave Lee !So you can lose money to!Very nice!

  2. Great analysis Dave. You always bring a calm and level view of the Tesla landscape and how it fits in to the wider world. As for you development of a language app, I would be interested in it as I love learning languages and would like to brush up and become more fluent in my Italian, Spanish, Japanese as well as pick up some Portuguese and French.

  3. The higher prices were always the exception, unexpected good times. I’m surprised they lasted that long. To say, I did assume that they lower the prices at a slower pace. I also wonder if they raise the prices again once they get the 7500$ on every car. The Model 3 is now only 1000$ cheaper than the Z in Europe. That shift is still pending. I will order myself a Tesla long range once we get HW4, and calls because that’s the signal.

  4. I am sure many smart people at Tesla have modeled the cost benefit analysis of the current price cuts in the short to long term. I feel sure that this will be a net positive for Tesla even in Q1,23.
I wonder how the Street analysts factor in the significant net profits accrued by Tesla’s energy storage business. I am assuming that if they value the enterprise based on EPS growth they should be agnostic as to where the growth is coming from – Auto, storage or Optimus. Exciting time ahead for Tesla and it’s long term investors.

    1. Tesla China already stated that the lower prices were enabled by expected cost reductions. Elon said several months ago that he was seeing lower supply costs. And then there is the $3k battery credit. I don’t think the margin hit is going to be as bad as Wall Street thinks. Most of these analysts are like screeching baboons. Other than Gary Black, I haven’t heard a single analyst talk about energy.

  5. Elon has done a great move. He’s moved the attention away from Twitter, reminded people of the Tesla mission by getting people to buy electric rather than ICE vehicles, made them more affordable, reminded the competition that they have more to do and to stop fleecing customers with inferior tech.

  6. Dave, always look forward to you videos, great insight and information. Tesla is at the base of its S-curve with Texas and Berlin factories ramping up, Megapacks near unlimited demand, FSD, Starlink, SpaceX…Hold on, the future is coming quick.

  7. Dave thanks for your perspective on recent developments. Did not take into account the $3,000 battery rebate on each vehicle. When will we know whether Panasonic or Tesla qualifies for the credit? Looking forward to learning more about your language app.

    1. It’s in the agreement between Tesla and Panasonic that Tesla is the beneficiary of any incentives or rebates with joint manufacturing projects. I doubt Panasonic ever envisioned this amount of federal benefits.

  8. An odd feature of the EV S-curve is that many traditional car makers are back-pedalling. 2022 showed EV demand is real but only Tesla has turned up the volume. This price cut and the IRA will fend off buyers’ inflation hesitancy and I think the old guard (Toyota!) will get a shock.

  9. Lowering costs dramatically and all at once was another smart move by Tesla. They beat the other auto manufactures to the punch and had they done it more gradually people would have be reluctant to buy thing another cut was just around the corner. Again one of Teslas biggest advantages is has quickly they move on technology and business decisions.

  10. Great that Tesla understands basic market principal of supply & demand. Even greater, they can easily afford price adjustments because of their high margins. Other manufacturers will be in trouble competing at this pricepoint.

  11. Tesla has already improved the cars weekly, they always push forward harder then any company in the world. That will not change. Always improving and lowering prices.
It feels like you are losing confidents in Tesla, a bit. ❤️❤️

  12. Thank you, David. You’re always a good source for knowledgeable perspective(s). Your acknowledgement of pitfalls and other knowledgeable people’s perspective (both popular, and informed, uninformed, misinformed, et.al.) has helped to direct my due diligence and research.

Being a practitioner of Agile Scrum for 15 years, I’ve become amazed by Tesla’s & SpaceX’s use, interpretation, and upgraded use of it. I believe Tesla’s & SpaceX’s model of Agile has potential in governance; considering it’s lack of bureaucracy, prioritization of critical path essentials, and efficiency.

That said, when the tax credits first came out I knew Tesla would respond and adjust accordingly. But I did not anticipate how swiftly or to what extent they would. In hindsight its beginning to seem a classic Tesla moment, the result of extensive preparation by a workforce with a deep sense of urgency, coupled with masterful leverage of game theory, and impeccable timing.

  13. Dave, it’s obvious Elon is doing a great job to put Tesla in this position (having enough margin to lower prices, 20b cash and coming cyber truck, etc). Tesla’s future is secured due to Elon’s long term vision and years hardworking. Hopefully one day you will also be able to appreciate Elon’s Twitter move (which is critical to both Tesla and people). It would be disappointing if you don’t share the same key values with Elon. Life is not just about money.

  14. This was an epic move on Tesla’s part, they are dealing with the tax credit issues and will take a serious bite out of other car manufacturers sales…. I’m sleeping much better now that this happened, excellent move Elon..😉⚡️
