I've donated and wanted to open this opportunity for those thinking about taking part.

  1. For Americans: The van in other parts of the world is what a pick-up truck is for the U.S.
You see very few pick-up trucks in Europe, people just use vans

    1. @lPB Historically pick ups are cheaper as you can cut the material cost in ~half. They should also be able to carry more weight as the vehicle itself weigh less.

    2. @ian mullers I’m not talking about van life weirdos. I’m talking about regular people. There are millions of Americans who drive trucks.

    3. @eric de le Vinquiere Oh please… this is not “Euro more tasteful” thing in the least. Pickups are very useful and frankly, more modular in use than a van. For towing and capacity the vans don’t even come close to a typical pickup.

    4. @Stefan MS I do, i have a Vw California T6.1, its kind of a fancy van but still a van, its the perfect everyday vehicle for people who surf or bike, have kids or just likes to travel, beats any stupid suv

    1. 𝗦𝗛𝗨𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗙𝗨𝗖𝗞 𝗨𝗣 ﹒ 𝗙𝗨𝗖𝗞 𝗬𝗢𝗨 says:

Tesla fanbois be like everything tesla is coming including tesla yo mama

    1. Tesla cars are great. Elon mentioned people have a high desire to own a tesla car, well, not me. As they don’t have a car that can fit 7 adults comfortably now. This is gonna slow tesla down.

    2. @Charlie Xu yes, im in asia, and asian cities love having MPV’s for the entire family, 2 cars isnt practical in asian cities, and suvs will never be confortable if you have elderly people

    3. Imagine all Passover sleep at night and FSD bring u to distinction when u wake up in the morning. No need to take plane.

  2. This could be a great small bus too like an airport shuttle. Lotsa love from Toronto! ♥♥♥ PS If I were an OEM ICE company, then I’d be shaking in my boots.

    1. Small airport shuttles, city public transportation reimagined, tourism, delivery for food, multiple different contractors, even large families would buy this. I’m surprised van hasn’t been announced sooner.

    2. Would be a great Taxi, from airport to city, carying up to …..12 people or less when more luggage.
Charge it while waiting for the next ride

    1. it will be amazing. Just imagine, a fully electric Tesla RV with a 3kw diesel generator and a 200l diesel tank! One would be able to go anywhere.

  3. Thanks Dave. I learned a lot from Farzad’s panel discussion yesterday. It was an opportunity to focus in on key aspects of yesterday’s presentation. It’s great to hear your perspective on things. Be well…

  4. I think it will take a little longer, but yes it is very likely the vehicle under the blanket is a van. I would love it, finally a possibility to build myself a compelling electric camper 🙂

  5. Dave I was thinking the same thing. I saw the van and I was thinking it should be a Sprinter-style van where humans can stand up in the back. An electric version of the Sprinter would be amazing and popular, and would still work for commercial or consumer applications. There could be load of configuration options that would work with a driver and/or FSD.

    1. Omg so many possibilities with this type of Van. How about the entire Van life people? Could live in there haha

  6. I wouldn’t be surprised if Franz was referring to the Cybervan as his favorite design project when asked about it and he said it was still yet to be revealed, a few months ago.

  7. I hope Tesla has a cyber truck reveal event since we know very little about it(Price range, motors, features, etc. )and the “one more thing” could be the van! What do you think?

  8. So good to have you back doing some regular videos Dave! I have missed your insights and level headed perspective.

  9. Well said Dave. Nice and concise and clearly delivered as always. It makes total sense. Looking forward to it!

  10. Thank you Dave. Did you create the image for the postage stamp? I hope the actual Tesla van has better clearance or variable clearance, like the truck, and a 4WD option, the camper I have always wanted for mountaineering.

  11. You’re a treasure Dave. No nonsense, straightforward presentation of the facts without schilling anything. You are the standard.

  12. I like your thoughts on this, especially the Osborne affect factor. It would distract everyone from the cheaper compact car for a while.

  13. Great information you are giving us right there! Keep it up Dave! This type of short informative content is highly appreciated!
