  1. But Bill you still fly a private jet and motor a huge multi-inboard engine, gas guzzling yacht!!! Hypocritical????

  2. You can tell everything from BG’s voice expression in those interviews. Just the way he says “Elon” speaks volumes.

  3. If he really put that on around $250 I’m very pleased.
Nice to know he’s transferring wealth to us retail dummies.

  4. Be careful about the scammers/impersonators that post YouTube comments and replies. I NEVER post my number publicly AND I don’t have anything to sell, buy, etc. And I would not ask you to ever send crypto.

  5. I forget the exact quote, but Elon once said the it’s better to actually do the right thing than appear to do the right thing… Bill Gates is definitely in the appear camp

    1. It’s something like too many people caring more about the perception of doing good than the reality of it. Elon was saying true philanthropy was really hard.

  6. Big oil makes hundreds of billions per year. Bill Gates could afford to lose a few billion a year. Both can afford to short Tesla for a very very long time.
It’s not about the money, it’s about preventing sustainable energy and protecting their monopolies.

“It’s a big club, and you’re not in it.” – George Carlin

  7. Split, split split the stock! We, retail army will buy even more and destroy Gates and his shorts

  8. I dislike Bill. He has too many incentive biases.

Strongly dislike that he looks at the philanthropic dollars he raises as “HIS” giving…

Just like his CNBC video bragging about his investments, but when asked about shorting tesla, “I don’t talk about my investments”

    1. No issues with union busting , suddenly profit and Mars oriented musk. Who until a couple of years back, said he didn’t want Tesla to be too profitable ? His intention was mass adoption and gigafactories making gigafactories ?

  9. Bill’s only chance is to negate his short by investing in Tesla before the next split or he’s going to lose his butt.

  10. I don’t understand his comment “I gave a lot of money to climate change than Elon or anyone else.” has anything to do with his short position on Tesla. 🤷‍♂️

  11. I guess the real question is, did he short even more when the price went up to around the $1000 mark or above and did he sell when it got down to around the $700 mark? If he did this a couple of times as it’s been bouncing around, with a similar sized stake, he could have offset a lot of his losses. Depends how much of a gambling man he is (or how much he believes he can foretell the market trends).

  12. If BG shorted stock when it was between 190-250. If and when the stock split (assuming it goes to 150-200), will that help BG’a short position?

  13. I went on a deep dive regarding his short position a couple of weeks ago. My guess is that he knows Tesla’s advantage in batteries is coming to an end. Gates is invested in multiple battery startups and I think he is banking on one of them leapfrogging Tesla. My guess is it will be Quantumscape. Over the last year they have made steady progress and will probably start mass production in 2024. BTW, stock is beaten down and heavily shorted, I see a short squeeze coming if the market rebounds or if there is any good news from the company.

  14. Bill’s position that he does more for climate change than Elon because cars represent a smaller percent of the problem is a straw man argument. He’s saying that, Telsa is only addressing a certain percentage of the overall problem in cars and he’s doing more because he’s doing things in the space of greater impact (not even mentioning Solar and Energy storage). What he fails to mention is, materially, what those things are and how much he’s spending both in capital and hands on. So you’re left to make the assumption. He’s trying to stand up or make the straw man by invoking a negative. I doubt Bill spends even 1% of his mental time on solving actual rubber meets the road type climate change stuff. Elon probably spends upwards of 40% of his actual time working with engineers who are creating actual meaningful change.
